Lazy Defence

By: Jonathan Seidel

Nietzsche’s civilised assault: aristocratic power and anarchy-liberation

Humans tend to see animals as less. They are wild beasts with no moral compass. This what makes humans superior. Nietzsche argued that the masterful nature is in line with the beast-like mentality. It is the weak who create civilised protection to cultivate goodness for themselves. Yet animal are not all that unethical. It is man who for his own prosperity creates society for his own superiority

Nietzsche portrays the jungle as a place of genuine cruelty but one with inevitable consequences. The strong rule in the wild. That is a fact. It is society that embraces the feeble sensitivity. Animals prey on one another to survive. It is a scarcely protective space for defence. The feudal lords promised protection for labour. Out in the wild, the weak would die. No one would defend them. The birds of prey would annihilate the helpless lambs. Nature is cruel but fatalistic. It is only with the aid of the master that the slave survives. The master fends off the prey with his strong ax. An enlightened sheep whacking at the hungry bird. Escaping, the novice sheep is in debt to the enlightened sheep. Fulfilling his every need as penance for his help. The enlightened sheep promises protection if the novice rubs his feet every evening. Such a deal is struck. They work together. Even if the bird of prey attacks periodically, the novice needs the enlightened’s aid. Rubbing his feet every evening on the possibility that the bird may come back. A master emerges as a special kind of person. One with ambition and strength to protect the weak.

One day, the novice sheep tells the enlightened that he doesn’t want to rub his feet any longer. They are safe away from the birds of prey. A bird hasn’t attacked in decades. They must be somewhere away. The enlightened shoots back with no I have kept them away. You are happy here because my efforts have prevailed. Trust me. The novice believes him and continues. Growing annoyed at the possibility of lying, the novice raises his voice. This is pointless. I rub your feet and yet need no defending. The enlightened laughs of course you need protecting. No I do not the novice says, I have god. God will protect me. God will provide for me. The master laughs and shews him away. The novice continues to rally his voice about a protector deity. One who aids the novice. The novice doesn’t need his master because his new master is greater than the mortal incompetent. Slowly, the master is tied into this bind. Coercively believing that the novice is telling the truth. To rid this novice of his lunacy, the enlightened puts him on trial. How dare someone speak out of line. I am the master not some metaphysical uncertainty. Not some invisible nonsense cooped up by a false saint. The novice is found guilty and murdered.

While the master thought that with the novice gone the ideas would cease, he failed to take into account the twitter backlash effect. Attempting to quash the novice’s ideals instead bolstered them with his demise. He is a martyr for other servants. The enlightened had accumulated a group of novices that needed protection. Under the band of his salvation he had them do other chores. Laundry and farming. Over time the protection seemed more of an excuse than a profession. Lounging around in his luxury all day, waiting for the day of defence. A soldier off duty until the enemy arrives. It never did. The inverted boy who cried wolf. The wolf never came but the townspeople kept believing it was possible. Yet growing weary of the ruse they look inward. Questioning the legitimacy of a soldier who never defends. The contract is void if he is not protecting. He is using us. The rebellion marches forward based in the ideals of the now martyred saint. Rebelling against the master. Massacring his estate and establishing a new ideal based on metaphysical notions. Based in spirituality. The novices are now in charge with spiritual expertise. Claiming their own majesty. An intriguing model that elevates all the novices while demoting all enlightened. Protectors are needed with a deity’s shield.

Focusing on the spiritual the novices take charge. Spiritual primacy is the hallmark of perfection. In time, the new enlightened take centerstage under the auspices of the novices. The novices continue to control the enlightened. Noble efforts cannot overtake the novices. The old masterful ideology has vanished with novice philosophy controlling all. The cracks of the novice ideology soon begin to whither. Enlightened folks attempt to topple the novice ideology. Attempting to rid it from the frame. Folded in the ideological mark must compromise. The enlightened are dubiously enlightened. They reckon with even more novice thought. The Neo-novice character seeks to liberate the excluded from the novice ideology. The novice ideology imperfect in its might could not stop the enlightened to reach the pinnacle of success. Coming to an agreement so both can maintain power. Even utilise for their own superiority. The novice ideology so pervasive clouds the enlightened’s judgement seeing themselves as partially novices but using to their advantage. Yet the Neo-novice ideology strips the novice ideology with renewed slavish rhetoric. The novice ideology was compromised so a further novice ideology is necessary. Spiralling all enlightened ideals into disarray. With little hope for the enlightened ideology to regain its powerful rightful place as the leadership of humanity.

A coup dismantled the rightful and most just system for a crippled means of pleasing everybody. The novice is scrawny. Endangered in the wild. It is the muscular who shields him. As humanity develops the scrawny shifts to ignoramus. While the ancient sapiens were based in physical strength the later were in intellectual strength. The danger of the wild has yet to change but the muscular sheep used his brain to develop a weapon to fend off the bird of prey. He can rise above due to his knowledge. The weapon acts as a deterrent. His deterrent protects the flock. The sheep can defeat the bird with his strength. The ignoramuses have nothing to fear. Authority is vested in the protective capability. Yet the deal must hold up. Why rebel. Ungrateful servants. Seeking paradise beyond the contractual agreement. The novice lends little reliance on the enlightened’s model. The less wars, the more time the novice can see the cracks in the system. The enlightened isn’t worthy of servitude if there is no protective cause. His authority is bested by criminal behaviour. His authority rests on a false promise. War though seeks to unify the group. Standing tall against the enemy. His power and strategic genius will lead to victory. He has the resources. The novice need his masterful instruction.

Man is a beast without proper direction. He is a lost cause without the power of an enlightened mentor. He will be harassed in the forest. The birds of prey will capture him and kill him. He must lend his submission to the enlightened for his salvation. Life is better than death. Only do a few simple things for the enlightened and he will grant your wish of living a long life. The jungle is everyone for themselves, a dangerous area. The enlightened sees an opportunity to establish a defence. It is his brains that construct the walls of Jericho. An impenetrable fortress. Since he is the most powerful he also must be protected. He is placed in the centre with extra safeguarding. He is protected by the novice guards. Living lavishly until war breaks out. He stays in bed until he is called to act out. Since he is the military leader he may as well be the supreme political authority. His brilliance of military excellence translates fluidly to political order. A legal format whereby he legislates for his own success. He binds the public into a wider contractual agreement. His brilliance is second to none and can lead the people successfully into battle. Yet while the battle is not being waged the people do what they can to help him grow. Protection equals the ethical fixing of subjugation for his self interest.

Is the novice so endangered in the jungle? Is submission the sole way of survival? Answering in the negative is a political ploy to maintain the slave mentality. Enslavement works on dehumanising the capability of rising up. The masterful mindset demonstrates its power once for infinite compliance. Promising protection for enslavement. Dehumanise instead of reaching the pinnacle individually. At its worst some may perish alone in the jungle. It is a scary place and missteps will lead to doom. Others fated to suffer will not make it through natural selection. The master attempts to curve this darwinian fatalism with protection. Yet at the same time subjugates those who could’ve become masters themselves. Ensuring his own reign with no opposition. Creating a system on a lie for his own prestige. At its best there are some individuals but the jungle is never a solo journey. The novice is surrounded by caring characters. In the darwinian theme, the family may be killed off but working together can properly defend against the birds of prey. It is only when the individual runs off that vulnerability is exposed. Unfortunate cases and the enlightened sees that such children do not go missing since they are inside the walls. Preserved from any accidental escaping.

The dog-eat-dog world is divided by species. Species themselves for the most part only devour other species. Thus in the case of prey, defending in a familial pack has a stronger way of surviving. Adapting to the prey growing smarts to avoid the attacks. Even countering with their own slew of traps. Natural selection only works with unadaptable species. The brawn can exercise and the brains can educate. Yet the latter more than the former requires a guide. Still, for both to reach the pinnacle of adaptability a mentor is necessary. In the Niezschean theme there may have been an original man who figured the complexities of nature and overcome the issues. Promising to protect for service. For the first generation Nietzsche is correct but the generational hold makes little sense. The tactics only kept to a specific family is no longer a personal endeavour but spite. Whether by fate or destiny one figured out the truth. Why not share it with everyone? Why subjugate for personal domination? This wisdom is preyed over the heads of everyone else. Telling all others this is the only way to live. All defectors are exiled and considered heretics. The master fears losing his power. Paranoid, he voids all those who have the power to diminish his rule.

In the jungle it is live or do. Forced to adapt to survive. Thriving off quick thinking. Some genetics provide success while others lead to death. Those who survive gain new insights. Able to attain the knowledge had the master never enclosed the knowledge to his offspring. Erecting walls in defence, he deprives the novice the possibility of figuring it out himself. Near death experience provides that wisdom. Those who simply live in fear passive in their approach are fragile figures. Those who need protection. There are always scaredy cates who wish to submit to void the dangerous encounter. Traumatised from rumours swirling around the neighbourhood. Not wishing to experience the potential horror they submit to the instructor to preserve their sanity and body. Even if the first generation is truly an alpha, his descendants act alpha but are truly beta bums. It is the sin of ancestors that the slavish contact continues. Novice descendants could overcome the trauma. A deceptive lie to ring in phobic idiots. Unaware that they can overcome the enemy. Whether well-intentioned by the enlightened or not, his descendants do so with ill-will. Holding the instructions over the public’s head, playing off of generational trauma only seeks to derail the individual to realise himself and stand up.

The superman is the novice who breaks through the nonsense. Whether that be religious or political institutionalism, whether he be a secularist or a commoner. Whether a plebeian or a Jew. The courage to escape to the woods and survive there is the answer to overcoming the enlightened. Learning their methods they hold so secretive. Passed down generationally. The enlightened with a knowledge they never experienced. The only one to do so was potentially a kind-hearted protector. A father who fended off a lion. Hearing of his exploits others came to him. He trained a few to protect the many. A leader with the ability to protect the herd. In time this group gathered many more. Training was much and in need of building tools and walls, other men were designated to do harsh labour but necessary for survival. The tribe eventually grew and by the third generation whether through conquest or non-warriors, certain warrior families became the nobility and all else the commoners. The warrior ancestors who were no longer warriors possessed a right to their supremacy. A once good will became bad faith by entitled children. Lied to by those who wish to retain their power. Narratives told with the nobility as the liberators. A right their ancestor and they themselves provide until this day. Heed their word, their lineage is glorious while yours is tainted with novice blood.

The chaotic jungle is not a one-on-one duel. Species live in packs to perceive their kind. While not always nice to others they are to each other. There may be a hierarchy but one that is familial instead of regal. The enlightened’s wisdom does not come to protect the novice but to use him for his agenda. Society is a theatre for his own paranoia. It is survivable in the jungle together. No need to be seduced in absolute perfection but a liar. The promise of salvation buys their descendants’ lives for eons. The revolt by these descendants acknowledges that the enlightened is not that much more enlightened. Symbolised with a greater deity but if anything rebuilding the normative ethic. Hierarchy is fine but not in despair. Not in a devilish tale to hold the gullible imprisoned by their ignorance. The promise leads to an established ontological legacy that fails to match the one of old. Only with knowledge can they try to outmatch the novices. Novices can work together. They can overcome the enemy. The master is only impenetrable if the descendants all work together. Keeping the public at bay. Playing on their fears and subduing their will. They are only protected if they listen. Brainwashed into generational bogus based on good will for protection by one experiencer. One survivor of an enemy assault giving him advantage leads to a superiority complex amongst his descendants. Pure chance is the origin of unequal reflection.

Enlightened tell of the wild’s dangers. The rumours are circulated for generations. It is the enlightened who protect. Only they can provide the salvation. Unable to escape the simulation. Stooped in the theatrical, the novices do not think otherwise. Even if angered they do not possess the access to overhaul the enlightened. Fearing for their families. They are at an obvious disadvantage. It is the heroics of a privileged individual. An enlightened defector who brings the novices a new voice. While this can be perceived as an attempt to establish his own superiority, such ideals are antagonistic to the masters. He already possesses his wealth, he is really gambling his death for opposing the current regime. For the sake of becoming a king he puts up with a novice bunch. Such a superiority complex is tested with those who are completely induced in a profound matrix. His empathy bursts for the from the outside. Seeing the simulation as a stunt for control. He speaks of a higher purpose. Overcoming the current regime with a higher power. If anything religion is a careful ruse to dismantle the simulated presence. The clutches of the enlightened can only be undermined by a greater power, by a greater enlightenment. Searching for the spirit has a more enamouring pull than the meek existence they live. A way of hoarding energy for the cause.

The privileged revolutionary like the first protector is attempting to help people. It is their descendants who corrupt the entire ordeal. The good will is established. The novices appeal to him and orchestrate a new motto. Shedding the yoke of the enlightened. Rebelling with their new model of living. The revolutionary’s line becomes the slogan to follow. His name rings true in the ears of the public. The mythos of his greatness pass on. Yet his descendants may not be as charitable as he was. The vicious cycle continues. At times new establishments provide more liberty but the authority remains identical through the generations. One saint followed by devilish children. Entitled fools who prey on those protected. A revolutionary emerges and the public is tested how will they respond. What is in their interest? Will this be better for them? Rebellion is easier when the novices are suffering. Yet if everything is okay or only relatively problematic then the prophet will be ignored for the regime’s kindness. It takes guts but also ambition for the public novices to rise up. Having to counter their own routines for an unknown future. The jungle is scary, the walls protect. It seems better to struggle under an exploitive leader than oust him and leave with nothing. As unruly as the ruler is he has the knowledge the public desires to adequately survive. Without the antidote the revolution is a death trap.

The chaotic jungle is solely a simulated lie to stimulate fear. It is dangerous but possible if the secrets are provided. Experimentation enables children to learn from mistakes and survive. Yet the deception of the enlightened is the generational debt. A debt that seemingly can never be paid off. Your life only exists because of my ancestor. Thus my elevated status is something that is slavish for eternity. A seeming coincidence that permits eternal domination. Yet further is the inability for others to elevate. Refusing their growth. Experimentation can only be executed by those with means. Those with access to experiment. If all are subjugated, focused on their labour, the enlightened are free to experiment. Until the enemy arrives at the gate, they have the luxury of learning. Exclusively maintaining all their discoveries for themselves. With the erected walls, the novices work continues but the enlightened gain knowledge in other fields. The novices work when the enlightened read. Their wealth even more amassed. Fated to be superior. The simulation is the routine of deranged habit. There is no thought for entertainment elsewhere. Once the cycle leads to more liberation, with thoughts possible, their vision to execute is deluded with the inaccessibility and routine slavish mentality. Habituated to stay down with no where to go.

Unlike the servant, the mystic sees outside the ruse. He is not a typical revolutionary. He does not emerge from the enlightened. He is a novice. A novice who escapes the clutches. Confident and scared he runs to the forest. He learns in the forest and emerges capable. He is strong but not enlightened. He will always be a novice. He cannot escape his familial descent. His blood is novice blood. He can never be one of the masters. A slave for eternity. Even if he knows the truths learned all those years ago in the forest. This was by no coincidence. He bursts to the forest to overcome the myth of old. Yet his revolutionary mindset is a more passive version. He sees the eternal damnation of the slave. Without any access to overcome the masterful brawn, he gains a following that looks elsewhere for strength. A philosophy of fated servitude is one that even eschatologically runs its course. The mystic must awaken the slavish mind. Readying for a new life, one that possesses nuance and confidence. The mystic is the hope for change. The change must come with praise and elevation lest he be crucified for his insolence. Will his martyrdom lead to any fulfilling development down the road. His model tailored to the current framework. Rebellion is a fool’s errand. There is no where to go. A death wish for those suffering now but dead afterwards.

There is no hope overcoming the masters. The enlightened have transformed a civilised life with their influence. Running away is a danger to all. Only the bold desert and fewer return. Leaving everyone for their own sanity. Yet those who return cannot overtake the herd mentality. Faced with eternal penance there is no way out. Stooped in an eternal cycle of slavery. There is no possibility. The mystic provides vision with no access but the revolutionary has access. Capable of garnering protection, he shoots back. Physical triumph is possible and with his knowledge and means can cultivate a serene society. He is insightful with knowledge. The educated can only do so much with words. Means are out of his hands. His blood prevents him from accessing the means necessary for a revolt. Means necessary to convince the public to push back. His deeds fall on deaf ears. The revolutionary has the means and can push back. Working together they rally the people. They overtake the criminal masters. Establishing a new era. Yet in time that era turns violent. Turns disastrous and unequal so soon afterward.

Webbed Tightly

By: Jonathan Seidel

Structuralism’s “oral” network

The world of illusionary tales prefaced in the circle of reality bemoans the similar lines intersecting at gradual points of development. Human nature is the guise for the patterns emerging in the social representation. Commonalities spreading universally is semantic prose for educational monism. In a peer pressured ensuring everybody likes you mentality, there is little room for unique instincts to deviate from the realistic compulsion. There is a spider web threading through humanity corresponding to a uniform measure of linearity.

The psychological link webbed into the sociological cocoon. The concurrents grouped in fantastical maturity import a synchronic symmetry. Thinking alike is a neurological mimicking. It is a pathological infection dotting copycat folklore. The underpinnings are cultural not natural. The dogmatic aspects spreading across timelines is a surface construction. A clouded delusion pawned off as a human instinct. Certain behaviours maybe instinctive but actionable offences is the leap that is baked into societal conformity. Televised content only deepens the socialised faculty in the depths of the mind. The blue pill nor the red pill seems to be a complementary solution. Both articulate materialistic desires. While an ascetic perspective may be forlorn and also interrogated for its cultural inspiration, its outcast immanently identifying with an internal perspective. The media propaganda informs materialistic sensibilities.

The internal facet revolves around one’s own ontology. It supersedes the external desires. The gift of eyesight is unmelted with imagery. Photographs engraved in the mind linked to the seven deadly sins. The hedonistic mentality focused on individualised consumption and attainment stretches the aesthetic bounds. No definite link can be underscored but the hellenistic remnants of western philosophy manifest itself throughout privileged society. The grace of status in personal elevation is a social climbing mimicry. A trial of deep civilised notation. A quotation to the overall depth of political quandaries. A collectivist invasion pursuing seductive externalities for grandeur prestige. A commonplace across society. The underpinning strings are visibly laced with capitalist vile. Structural integrity is linked to the frequent media. Propaganda shoved in the audience’s face. Televised content coercing behaviour in its false prophecy for salvation is noticeably a trick to suppress a rebellion.

The people are coupled into a group formula. A brave new world hinged on providing the antidote to the difficult reality of life. Instead of stuff it is endowing information to attain this stuff. It seems as if it is autonomous. It is just receiving a tip. Not given freely like a baby. Independent people reaching their goals of achieving materialistic lore. Socially constructed devices externally manifest their wiles onto man’s frontal lobe. The apparent satisfaction to soulful empowerment is harnessed erroneously. It is manipulated on billboards and televised content. The advertisement brainwashes coercive addictive behaviour to fall in line with the norm. Everyone else is doing it. The overlords are no cabal but a string of sorcerers. Their string progression in a quartet of polyphonic hymns. A verbal recitation of euphoric melancholy. The audience is compelled by the symphony’s voice. A breath of radiance summons the wrath of the rejects. The hypnosis carries weight clouding the consciousness of the mass adherents.

The superstitious finality musters worrisome sublimity into the collective consciousness. An unnerved currency in the bastion of humility. The intentioned faculty does not register. Unaware of the Truman show phenomenon. Unaware of a directer framing the world. A deity of sorts yet more mortal and reckless than his fantasies relish. A product of his environment that is generationally linked to the jargon force-fed by its predecessors. Its corrupted ideological pose is a bingo book of interrelated concurrents. Born into a system that precedes personal birth. A religious mantra in its doctrinal structure. The blasphemous ignorance is to deviate from the set standard. Feeling intuitive is a misguided appropriation of engraved perceptions educationally supported before debate is tolerated. It is not axiomatic but a learned interest. Taught in the midst of our early youth places these truths in the recesses of our minds. Subjectively connived as the ultimate form of natural expression. A lie formed as a truth in the childish folklore spoken softly in lullabies. Guidance is stolen by the parental dependency in the smokescreen prodded on the innocent youth.

The conscription of his beliefs is lauded as a ceremonial entrance into human life. Televised content pushes the advertisement pushing the certain agenda. Liberation depends on the consequential sequence. Freedom is the centre of absolution in the face of chaotic absurdity. He is doomed only if he stands idly by. Freedom for expression in its limited capacity. The frame game is nothing short of genius. An illusionary tale victorious in restricting the intelligent to think inside the 5x5 barbwire cell. A cell with a window to the outside. Able to see the pictures of pleasantries and fortune in the far out distance. Embroiled with a deep thirst for such hope. The outsiders provide information of the occurring events outside the cell but refuse to let us see it for ourselves. The outsiders look no different than the insiders but contest they have antibodies to the infectious externalities. The cure is possible for everyone but must be individually attained. A death race for salvation. Defeating cellmates one by one in an aggressive competition is the only way out of the cell. Follow their rules and reward will potentially come your way.

The reliance on external knowledge over ones senses pivotally reallocates one’s own self esteem. Needing to live by someone else’ expectations. A slave to a master’s bidding. The liberation is only a cover for the autonomous servitude. Disassociation from the slave trade and citizenship as the key to individualism guises the slavish strings. Trust in the viewed content is an inescapable illusion. It is the world only known by the audience. The boxed-in-cell is not apparent to the the cellmates. They feel chained to a society that wishes to quash them, If they try hard enough they can overcome the pressure. They follow the orders, the formalised insights sampled in advertised sentiments. The insiders only see what the outsiders wish them to see. They make the cell and place everyone in it. The outsiders provide salvation as the platonic philosopher kings. In their prestige, they belittle the insiders with their superiority. They deal the regulations to drive an ideological split.

The self-appointed bigoted neo-aristocracy adorns itself in its best outfits as it attends exclusive galas. They televise these events with proto-messaging to their causes. Marking as people’s persons. They talk down from their ivory towers in jargon intended to be relatable. Considerably their corporate attitudes only further the gap between them in the masses. Yet they try and try to incline toward the average Joe. Their synthesis of televised media in mother tongue with stories of old, fuel in their minds camaraderie. Cater our messaging and you can one day reach our level. They are beloved for believing in the masses. For their inspirational jargon. The televised entertainment brings their character forward not their true selves. Their advertised impersonations are fraudulent. Imposters playing a role that pierces the viewer’s heart. The lavish life is combined with a phoney replication. Off-screen there is little to distinguish other than heresy. They live in ivory towers but no matter which form of entertainment they are producing, it is a hoax. Their true nature is hidden from view. Usually ousted in scandals decades later. The self-immortalised are actors preying on the gullible.

The individual alone in the world seeks social affiliation. The aristocratic community boasts of its selfhood, a posse just like everyone else but it is not. It is a group of an interconnected web of privileged foes. Those outside the frame are vying for entrance. To be part of the unique scenario. It is all cookie-cutter surface jargon to real in the masses. To keep them aspiring yet at arm’s length. By promoting a self sufficiency scheme, it hinges on personal effort and undying conviction. The will to never give up is enough to make it. These slogans bridge the impossibility with plausible attainment. Work hard and in time success will come you way. Luck is periodic but enough shots on net, something is bound to go in. A probability game for a champion. Practice and study well, excellence is only a few yards away. There is some truth to this. The ten thousand hour rule. Whether or not this a proven science, a great deal of time focused on one trade can elevate one’s abilities and polish their skills. Yet not everyone is invited into the pantheon of elites. Only those with suffice connections are invited. The exclusivity is a dire reality.

The top brass are intent on keep their power while people maintain their composure. The hegemonic singularity is open but is selective. It commands a certain lifestyle. Wealth is tied with politics and ideology. There is no pure monetary value. Money only breeds the ability to access that which was once idolised as divine right. Accumulated wealth is a passage but it is only the first step. There are follow up interviews to enshrine in the paradise of the elitist kingdom. This monolithic perspective and kneeling is monarchial. Once inside the system, public appearances must follow a regimen to uphold the standard. Talking out of order will only lead to blackballing. Their voting will drop from the fives to the ones. Although they will still have their stuff, their resources will begin to dwindle and the public outrage will haunt them. To some extent this is a warning to the average person to stay away from elitist politics. Why get involved in a framework that betrays the core foundation of the ancestral mission. The multi-layered level closes off the world of the elites to the world of the citizen. Discouraging entry is tactical in providing hope and two-faced passion.

The elite world is grouped but polarised. The wealthy are tied in a knot but on the face of it they argue against one another. At times, sincerely in opposition to certain standards. Elites are attacked for their bad behaviour. Their troubling actions are called into question. When a single elite breaks from formation he is targeted. How dare he not advocate or defend this position. The elitist community is conditional. It is paradise for the robotic acceptance. Those who believe in the majority cause will win. The people-pleasers will be victorious. The manipulative will be able to overcome their past issues. Skewing media to either suppress or overlook their scandalous cellar. Protection is afforded to those who cater to the promising future. The progressive avenue is the talk of the town but their ideas are repeatedly ignored by all elites. Even elites who preach these ideas are simply playing the game. Tricking the people into thinking they have their back and then stabbing the people when they come bless them. Politics is war but it supposed to be honourable. Even if not to one another at least to the people. The stubborn arrogance to lie into good fortune is devious and detrimental. It sets a bad precedent for society. The self-appointed moralists are hypocrites.

The elites lie and the sooner the masses account for the blasphemy the better. It is not a grudge match but a honesty gig. They are selfish social climbers only in it for themselves. They continue to push innovative ideas that immediately are crushed due to lack of compromise or backbone. Blaming one another is low and unhelpful to the masses. Many people with influence continue to hypocritically claim one side of the coin and act the other. Advocates but only when it affects others. With all their prestige it all too shocking they lack any depth in the political machine. The people can vote and rely on their representatives. The elitist group can unite for the people’s best future but they do not. It is not one person’s or another. It is a national duty, a civic duty. Only looking out for oneself and save their job is the steady misuse of power. They resist the potential future in their greedy dominance. Why should they care for the rest of the citizenry? Why should they properly represent the people? Why should they be loyal?

Spotlit Stages

By: Jonathan Seidel

Modern individualism and aloneness and freedom-less

Modernity pledged to expunge the shackles of authoritarianism. Man was now free of tyrannical oppression. He could make a name for himself. The market economy promised a brighter future. Man was now free to mark his destiny. Oscillation between classes was possible. The poor could become rich with sufficient effort. Anything is possible. While there is a limitation in one’s adherence to the national citizenry, operating internationally exceeds the patriotic particularism. Man is further isolated by the alienated fulcrum. He is no longer tied down to his countrymen. He is a member of a specific society but his relation does not entail the neighbourhood barbecues. Man finds friends but it is more a like-minded bunch than a community. It is not for the betterment of the nation. There is a self interest that encloses the loneliness. It lacks a measure of patriotic zeal.

Medieval society offered less freedom but provided community. Deep ties to others unnoticed in contemporary society. As Fromm points out, there is a misnomer about medieval society. People were part of a community. The church strengthened that bond (though ironically a Jewish author optimising christian society despite Jewish polemics). A citizen was placed in a system that protected and harboured him. He was never alone. He was linked to a package no matter the cause. Both religiously and politically. His efforts directly affected the structure’s efficacy. Within this comforting model, he was a member of a community. A dignified identity marking the self as formidable. He had his family backing him. Unlike modern groups, this was not an autonomous decision but a predetermined art. While to the modern mind autonomy is lacking, there is a clear tranquility to one’s fate. One is born into a system and that system cares for them. The inefficient social programs were sufficient. They were the backbone of the society. It was automatic and mechanically fluid.

As a Jew, there is similarity to the medieval ideology. A Jew is born and bread. He is compelled to adhere to a heteronomous lifestyle. One lacking freedom and mobility. This identity though fated is deteriorating today. According to the law, fate cannot be usurped but modern individualism enables unilateral desertion. The medieval coercion has elapsed. The haskalah movement was the individualistic abandonment due to minute rabbinic authority. The enlightenment universalised the Renaissance’s vision. Anyone could make it. Leave the shackles of the fated life. There are some predetermined factors but with enough attempts and an undeniable drive success was inevitable. A call for excess expression. The self was capable of material grandeur if not for the systematic suppression. A manifest destiny type with hope for gold. The pioneer needed to step outside the grid and forge a new path. Renaissance Italy did just that. With the newfound freedom, no longer was sovereign oppression a reality. Each was free to act on their own.

The farce in the meta-narrative was the monopolistic greed. While freedom was generated for the individual, his choices were limited. The corporate takeover left little freedom in the wake of its conquest. Individuals were free in the chaotic wilderness fending for themselves. The sovereign had abandoned his reign. Individuals could pick up the pieces. Finally getting a slice of the bigger picture. The versatility of capitalist identity  does enable a variety of possibilities. Even with certain roads blocked off, making it big elsewhere is possible. Society in its market capital designates the needs of the nation. In privatised sectors one can charge whatever fee they wish. One must build a reputation to which they are considered by clients. Everyone has the access to acquire such a portfolio but it comes down to one’s excellence. One’s grades and success through medical school and residency promises him an opportunity to climb the ladder. Rung by rung ascending to a respectable location. Everyone has to go through this order. It is one’s abilities that forge one’s destined fortune. Even Ford’s monopoly was due to his genius. Create and cultivate and success is definite.

There are a few exceptions. Influencers on social media are the new model of rags to riches. While we are aware of the success stories we are ignorant of the failures. This is the most individualistic entrepreneurial attempt to make millions. Authorship is still an option but this illustrative interactive expression is more financially viable. One of the most talented yostubers, Mr. Beast even shows us giving money to small yostubers. His younger brother’s channel failed because it was identical. Success only comes from originality, creativity and continuity. This is not easy nor simple. A few success while most fail. The same goes for every profession. It is not automatic and passion takes the backseat to capability. There are limited spots competing for a small sample. Society transforms into a grudge match for coming on top. Only the top companies are noteworthy and if materialism is a priority, then without is failure and depressive nihilism. Athletes who narrowly focus on professional sports as the one shot at escaping the shackles of poverty only proves the point. The inability to surpass this excess mentality.

People slave away at their jobs to confirm a certain status. Fame has muddled the needs of a society. If individualism is the core, then superiority is boasted by accomplishments. It is a long way to the top but a worthwhile effort to the materialistic seeker. The individual validates himself by his achievements. By his material and things. Wearing a suit and a gold watch used to mean put together but now it means status. It means you are in a specific social structure. I heard once that Blacks wear the bling and drive Porsches to feel rich. Wealth is no longer a sign of health but of exclusivity. The goal is to make enough to lavishly live. Employees work ten hour shifts in order for one day in their tender age to rejoice in a five star hotel. The Mexican fisherman parable illustrates this beautifully. The fisherman catches one fish and then spends the rest of the day with his family and friends. The American investor prods him to invest in trading up a few fish for boats and then finally selling it for millions. Upon retiring he can spend time with his family and friends. The attitude differs in the fisherman’s awareness of his presence and joy while the investor awaits his luxury to enjoy. While the investor (diverting ever so slightly from the story) will have the money one day to travel and enjoy delicacies that the Mexican cannot, the latter’s materialistic mind forgets the familial identity through the years.

Some people are sufficiently rich to relish in the opportunities that others do not have. There will always be such people. Yet should that be a goal? It is not even obvious socio-economic issues. The idea that everyone can make millions does not mean that everyone will. Meaning possibility nowhere meets plausibility. A child from the projects in theory can make it big but the lack of opportunities prevents him from reaching that stepping stone. There are those rag to riches stories but internalise all the variables: their surroundings and environmental influence. A poor lad in a struggling town with supportive and brilliant parenting can cultivate a winner. There are few bad luck individuals but the focus on the materialistic exercise only emboldens the pressure. Anyone can do it, if they try. This optimism is necessary narcissistic. The losers are screwed especially those doomed from the start. A negative attitude will not help anyone but false hope is dangerous as the abyss is way deeper than the ascent. Hell is worse than Heaven. There are winners and losers. For every victor there is a defeat. It is a perpetuated dialectic. If someone’s content is gaining more traction, the other is not. If one is working for an employee, he is not making the same profit. There is a gap in potentiality polarising societal cohesion.

If the goal is to buy a private jet and other luxurious objects then most of society will falter. It will become super competitive and aggressively ugly. Each shooting for his shot. Trying to best each other. The problem is that it’s not a rung for rung fight. It’s like the doodle jump game, if you fall, you fall all the way to the beginning. It is not descending a smudge but an entire fortune. Consequences can be grave but if the trophy is the motto of society, then screw everyone else. Games are competitive but they’re entertainment. Do the best you can but be aware of your actions. In this pecking order, monetary attainment is the social hierarchy. We still have not exited the classist paradigm. The same individualistic liberty created a professional rivalry. There is no foundational setback to aid. The isolationism is its own animal. The us-them is now i-you. There is no team just a round robin king of the court tennis match. Yet the king is using a mechanical racket while the challenger is using a broken wooden racket. The individual can autonomously choose to play but his inferior background puts him at a disadvantage. Not impossible but highly difficult. Capitalism must recognise the inherent struggles in the individualistic model. Not everyone begins at the same mark. Biases and leverages priorities others.

Inequality only furthers resentment. In a society where the fortunate succeed they feel they are pulling too much weight. The recent debate over raising wealth tax has been overtly nasty. Paying a fair share for wealth accumulated as the self made man. Yet a rich kid who inherits his father’s fortune did nothing to demonstrate his self made-ness. Such a credit system is instituted in China and not certain its a worthy cause in democratic countries but recognition of connections that others do not have. Privileges afforded place one on a special level. These privileges are part of a social order. While there is little communitarianism, there is an invisible relational identity. The connective tissue to attain positions by relationships is not to be confused by a modern angelic communal identity. Helping out friends is executed on an individual level. It is not baked into the system. Those committing this deed are acting selflessly. It is doing favours not a community get-together or a cohesive program. The individual is tied to an individual not a larger community.

Are modern religious organisations the solution? Capitalism with autonomous communities? A capitalist community is a competitive but charitable one. Postmodernism has gradually revived communal allegiance. Though forming in political units, tribal tendencies are emerging. An individual with his liberties yet able to identify with a group. For all the great innovations, it is misconstrued that capitalism is the tool to this necessity. This meta-narrative needs to be debunked. Innovation in capitalism only occurs in profitable situations. Nevertheless modern technology is indebted to capitalistic zeal. Still human drive for growth and de-monopolisation may produce the same results. Thereby the group factor becomes ever apparent in the we over the us. The group is not in the boxing ring but in a sparring match. It is a communal goal of mutuality. The goal is for collective enhancement as an intent not a consequence. Not at the heels of some rich investor or prodigy inventor. Society is a team effort not an adversarial art. Society is a holistic being identical through and through. It is no two faced Jekyll and Hyde.
